Recap submitted by Coach Melody Zanecchia
The TASIS Girls' Varsity Volleyball team took second place out of ten teams participating in this year's European Sports Conference hosted by International School of Zug and Luzern. The girls won every single game in the two-day tournament until the final match against our long-term rival American School of Milan. The Tigers were led by co-captains Giulia de Cristofaro '20 and Jenni Kraemer '20 in their final volleyball game as Seniors. Giulia de Cristofaro '20 brought the team a large percentage of its overall points with her strong serving, including many aces, and beautiful sets to assist our hitters. Jenni Kraemer '20 aided the team with her incredible saves and consistent hitting at the net throughout the tournament. Caio Zanon di Valgiurata '21 made some incredible placement tips and hits at the net, winning us points at crucial moments in the final match. Doga Aksu '23 was a force receiving difficult hits from the other team and serving consistently throughout the semi-final and final match. Ella Hauptman '20 led the team in successful hits and strategic plays from the outside, and Elle Kirby '21 dominated the center court and defense at the net, with unbeatable middle hits, blocks, and tips. The Tigers are exceptionally proud of Elle Kirby '21, who was nominated as part of the ESC Tournament's All-Star team! Our senior players will be so greatly missed next year and TASIS thanks them for their incredible contributions to the athletics program! Go Tigers!
