TPA Spring Gala Raises More Than CHF 100,000!

178 guests enjoyed an elegant aperitivo, a gourmet dinner, and a highly entertaining live auction at the “Building the Future” Spring Gala on the TASIS campus on the evening of April 21. Thank you to everyone who supported this event! Enjoy a recap of the evening.

Please note that raffle tickets can still be purchased until May 7. The TPA will be selling tickets every morning next week in the parking lot during drop-off (look for Brunella Pignaton) and at the Gazebo during afternoon pick-up. Tickets can also be purchased during the school day at Reception in De Nobili or from Ms. Shireen at Focolare. A list of raffle items can be found here.

Join the TPA for a Private Art Studio Visit on May 2

Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana (OSI) Concert on May 4

Students in grades 2–5 have the wonderful opportunity to attend the OSI Orchestra concert at Lugano Arte e Cultura (LAC) on the morning of next Friday, May 4. This year’s feature will be Peer Gynt by Edvard Grieg.

All-ES Field Trips on May 8

Our second academic field trip of the year will be on Tuesday, May 8, with all students in grades Pre-K through 5 participating. We are using the Veracross system to verify student information and seek permission for the trip. Please go to your Parent Portal in Veracross and complete the sign-up form by Tuesday, May 1.

TASIS Students to Perform at Lugano’s Palazzo dei Congressi on May 15

TASIS vocalists, instrumentalists, and dancers will collaborate with conductor Andrea Cupia, the Lyric Choir of Lugano, the Opera ViVa Orchestra, and the Cantonal High School of Lugano in celebration of the centenary of Leonard Bernstein’s birth.

Reserve Your Seats for the Middle School Musical, Beauty and the Beast JR.

Based on the Academy Award-winning motion picture and the original Broadway production that ran for more than 13 years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, the TASIS Middle School's production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast JR. will be performed in the Palmer Center on the evenings of May 18–19 and on the afternoon of May 20.

Elementary School Musical to Premiere on May 31

Directed by Mr. and Mrs. Frazier-Smith, Cry Wolf—an original musical written by Stephanie Figer, TJ Liquori, and Mikey Rosenbaum, three veteran members of the TASIS Summer Programs' Dedicated Performing Arts Team (DPAT)—will enjoy its European premiere in the Palmer Center on the evening of Thursday, May 31, at 19:00 and will also be performed at 19:00 on Friday, June 1.

Save The Date: ES Moving-Up Ceremony on June 7

The ES Moving-Up Ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 7, starting at 10:30 in the Palestra. All families are invited to a buffet luncheon at Villa De Nobili after the celebration. There will be no afternoon shuttle bus. All students should depart with their families.

Please note the dress code for this event:

Pre-K–4th Grade

Boys: Blue pants, white TASIS polo shirt, dark shoes, and no sneakers

Girls: Blue skirt or pants, white TASIS polo shirt, blue or white socks/tights, and dark shoes—no red, pink, or purple

5th Grade

Boys: Nice shirt and tie, dress pants with belt, dark socks, dark dress shoes, and no sneakers

Girls: Nice dress or skirt or dress pants with top, tights, or socks. Skirts or dresses must be knee-length. No bare shoulders—straps on dress have to be at least three fingers wide. Dress shoes—no high heels.

To improve the parking facilities up the hill, we have organized a valet service from 9:30–13:00.

It’s time again for the ES TASIS Times! We welcome written or artistic classwork, creative writing, poems, interviews, photographs, comics, recipes, crossword puzzles, and anything else creative. All work should be submitted in its original format, as a Word document, or as scanned JPEG. For more information, please contact Ms. Stolz or your child’s homeroom teacher.
