The Elementary School Theater Program performed the original musical Cry Wolf in front of sold-out crowds in the Palmer Center on the evenings of Thursday, May 31, and Friday, June 1. The outstanding opening-night performance was filmed and can be watched in its entirety below.
Cry Wolf takes place in Kleinstadt, a charming little Bavarian mountain-town known for its amazing wool sweaters, delectable stinky cheeses, and a pack of wolves hungry for the town sheep! While doing her best to protect the all-important sheep from those clever wolves, young Gretl Schafer is faced with a choice between popularity and doing the right thing. Also featuring mischievous Hooligans, friendly singing sheep, greedy small-town politicians, clueless tourists, and soulful cheese-makers, this is a tale of an energetic community learning about the importance of honesty and kindness in the face of adversity.
Directed by Matthew Frazier-Smith and written by Stephanie Figer, TJ Liquori, and Michael Rosenbaum—three veteran members of the TASIS Summer Programs' Dedicated Performing Arts Team—the European premiere of Cry Wolf featured seven original musical numbers and a talented cast of 34 young actors: Sarah Isabel Mesaric, Michael Setterberg, Emma Puckett, Alessia Primo, Helena Abrantes Pini, Edoardo Vasino, Ana Beatriz Ribeiro Moritz Cavalcanti, Ginevera Cribari, Ivan Popov, Milla Debernardi, Giorgia Segat, Greer Mckee, Leonardo Ciccone, Xander Klim-Wiren, Anthony Nikoloff, Lorenzo Bruzzo, Gilda Danisi, Benedetta Attili, Maria Eduarda Cardoso Dias, Gaia Giuliani, Edoardo Milani, Emily Blank, Beatriz Cohn, Sergey Bektashev, Kyla Bodnar, Gabriele Ippolito, Eloise Hill, Anna Compagnino, Greta Vasino, Madelena De Sousa Lopes E Costa Felix, Jaya Bruera, Gabriel Mejia Defaut, Isabella De Bustis, and Andre Abrantes Pini.
