Learning Resource Center
The Learning Resource Center (LRC) at TASIS provides services designed to support and enhance the educational experience of students, parents, and faculty in our learning community. The LRC offers a variety of programs and services, some of which can be accessed by all members of the community and others that are available only to students who are enrolled in the LRC.
Basic services provided by the LRC incur an additional cost and include, among other things, a case manager who provides weekly individual support, the formulation of a Learning Support Plan, “push-in” services, provision of extended time on internal tests and exams, and applications to external testing agencies for accommodations on standardized exams.
For students requiring more intensive support, the LRC provides two types of additional services: Remediation, in which the LRC organizes and delivers specialized “pull-out” instruction in specific academic areas during the course of the school day; and an Organizational/Study Skills Tutorial, which is designed for students who have difficulties with executive functioning.
In addition to providing learning support to students, the LRC operates as a community resource, offering a variety of programs and initiatives designed to enrich the educational experience and learning opportunities for all, including learning strategies workshops, stress management classes, and consultations with faculty and parents regarding pathways to student success.
Parents of current TASIS students can access more information—including a detailed description of all services offered, the fees associated with these services, and an abundance of related resources—by logging into the Parent Portal and exploring the Learning Resource Center folder, which is housed in the Parent Resources section.
