International Week Schedule | February 8-12, 2021

Start Date: Wednesday - February 10, 2021

International Week, a favorite annual TASIS tradition, will begin on Monday, February 8, and conclude on Friday, February 12. 

* Students may choose to wear their regular school uniforms if they do not wish to participate in the themed dress-up day.

TPA Flag Tattoo International Week Fundraiser - Parents can support TPA and let their student celebrate their heritage by purchasing online faux Flag Tattoos to wear during International Week! The flag tattoos come in two sizes and some even in a heart shape, click here to purchase yours.

Monday, February 8

All-School

  • Dress Code: Traditional National Costume Day (something historically associated with the student’s country) or school uniform
  • Parade of Flagsfilmed outside (and shared on YouTube later in the week) *
  • Themed Meals:
    • Lunch: Mexican
    • Dinner: Chinese

HS 

  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Breakout group discussion during advisory

MS 

  • Ping Pong World Championship, Palestra, during recess
  • International Bake Sale: by SL Group Hope & Homes for Children and the TPA during recess
  • TPA Flag Tattoos and TPA Masks sold during recess
  • Advisory Online online international games organized by the MS Student Council
  • Dress Code: 

    • Note: Jeans are NOT allowed; face painting is NOT allowed
    • Dress code shoes/black sneakers are required (unless wearing traditional shoes)
Tuesday, February 9

All-School 

  • Dress Code: School Uniform (flag masks may be worn), HS Traditional Dress of another country
  • Themed Meals:
    • Lunch: American
    • Dinner: Swiss

MS

  • International Bake Sale: By SL Group Hope & Homes for Children and the TPA during recess
  • TPA Flag Tattoos and TPA Masks sold during recess
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Breakout group discussion in advisor groups
  • Dress Code: School uniform/PE uniform

ES

  • Dress Code: Swiss Day (red and white)
Wednesday, February 10

All-School 

  • Dress Code: School Uniform, HS colors of your flag
  • Themed Meals:
    • Lunch: Spanish
    • Dinner: Greek

HS

  • 17:35 - 18:35 Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Breakout group discussion

MS

  • Ping Pong World Championship in the Palestra during recess
  • International treats for Advisor groups - To make this event a successful one, family participation is essential. Parents and students are asked to provide homemade traditional dishes to share with their child's advisor group.
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Breakout group discussion
  • Dress Code:

    • National jerseys are allowed (NOT club team jerseys) or school uniform/PE uniform
    • Note: Jeans are NOT allowed; face painting is NOT allowed

ES

  • Dress Code: National Jersey Day (national jerseys are preferred over club teams)
  • International snacks provided by the TPA
Thursday, February 11

All-School 

  • Dress Code: School Uniform, flag colors may be worn (all colors in the flag must be present), HS International Jersey Day
  • Themed Meals:
    • Lunch: Italian
    • Dinner: British

HS

  • Taste foods from different cultures on the Kay Terrace @ 11:30–13:30

MS

  • Ping Pong World Championship Finals, Palestra during recess
  • Premier of filmed International Week events show during the virtual Assembly
  • Dress Code: 
    • National jerseys are allowed (NOT club team jerseys) or school uniform/PE uniform
    • Note: Jeans are NOT allowed; face painting is NOT allowed
    • TPA flag tattoos & masks allowed

ES

  • Dress Code: USA Day (red, white, and blue)
  • International Showcase performances (Note: Due to the volume of performances we are expecting, we likely will not be ready to share the International Showcase video with families until early the following week. Thank you for your patience.)
Friday, February 12

All-School 

  • Themed Meals:

  • Dress Code: School Uniform, HS TASIS colors
  • International snack in Advisor groups
  • Premier of filmed International Week events

MS

  • Dress Code: School uniform/PE uniform, TPA flag tattoos & masks allowed

ES

  • Special Events:
    • International snacks provided by TPA (Focolare)
    • Dress Code: Dress in a friend's national costume

* Only students participating in the Parade of Flags may attend. Those students will meet at the basketball court with their national flag at 09:00 or 09:45.
