The picturesque alpine village of Château-d’Oex is located in the heart of French-speaking Switzerland and hosts TASIS’ French Language Program (TFLP) and Middle School Program (CDMSP). A village of 3,000 inhabitants, Château-d’Oex features a small downtown of cafés, restaurants, bakeries, boutiques, a park, a sports and activities center, and a medieval church. TFLP and CDMSP students, counselors and teachers all live, eat, and have classes in classic alpine chalets.
TFLP (TASIS French Language Program)
TFLP offers four weeks of intensive French language classes for students aged 14-17, at all levels of French. A variety of sports and activities are organized in the afternoons and evenings.
The session includes half-day and full-day excursions to many of Switzerland’s sites of cultural interest and importance including Zermatt, Geneva, Bern, and Montreux. Overnight trips are also offered to students who enjoy hiking and camping in mountain huts.
Students wishing greater exposure to French language and culture can choose an optional four-day weekend in Paris during the session and/or a six-day visit to southern France at the end of the session.

The program also offers an optional 4-day weekend trip to La Côte D’Azur (Nice, Monaco and Saint-Paul de Vence) for students who would like to get a real taste of French culture.
